Objectives :
- Demonstrate that articulating its IP strategy with the overall strategy of the company, it is possible to make better use of IP rights and to optimize its budget.
- Propose an approach and tools to facilitate this joint.
Agenda :
- Overview of the possible uses of a patent: we will show that the patent has multiple roles beyond simply protection against imitation by reviewing these various functions from academic analyses and professional and concrete examples to arrive at an overall plan – illustration by the case of an innovative SME.
- Possible combinations with other IP rights to enhance the effectiveness of the results: we will show how the various rights of intellectual property can be combined to enhance or refine the IP strategy.
- Presentation of a general approach to link strategic goals and IP strategy: logic and unfolding of the approach, presentation of specific diagnostic tools to facilitate its implementation.
- Networking with the organization and the resources allocated to IP in the Company: analysis of how policy choices can influence the processes, organization and resources allocation of departments in charge of the management of IP rights. Presentation of standard configurations

- Reflections on concrete cases brought by the speaker or by the participants in the limit of what they can reveal abouttheir cases.
